Donald Trump is believed to be planning a ban on some passengers carrying electronics
The claim was leaked by an unnamed US official and appeared to have been confirmed by a Tweet from an airline, which has since been deleted.
The anonymous official indicated people travelling from 12 countries would not ben allowed to bring laptops, iPads, cameras and many other electronics in their hand luggage.
Royal Jordanian airline said, beginning tomorrow, everything other than “cellular phones and medical devices” would be banned in a message on its Twitter account.
The message said: “Following instructions from the concerned US departments, we kindly inform our dearest passengers departing to and arriving from the United States that carrying any electronic or electrical device on board the flight cabins is strictly prohibited.”
The ban would effect citizens from around 12 countries
The Tweet has since been deleted.
The news is expected to be announced tomorrow by the Homeland Security Department.
Around a dozen international airlines will be effected by the new rule.
