Some Galaxy fans managed to get a free gift via a Vodafone glitch
Samsung's new Galaxy S8 is now available to pre-order with many websites offering free gifts if you happen to buy one before its official release date on April 28th.
However, it seems an error from mobile operator Vodafone has seen customers getting one of Samsung’s latest products without spending a penny.
Members of HotUKDeals, noticed that Vodafone was selling the Samsung Gear VR headset for a price of £0.
That's quite a deal considering these virtual reality glasses usually retail for over £65.
One member contacted Vodafone who advised that it was a technical glitch and that the Gear VR was only supposed to only be free when buying the Galaxy S7 or S8 handset.

So far, Vodafone appears to have honoured the free orders with many people who grabbed the deal already receiving them.
Some users were nervous as the site asked for payment details and others were unsure if it was a scam from an unverified site but other members advised that they had to sign in to their Vodafone account via a secure code to place the order and today they have been posting pictures of their orders, which they have collected in-store.
Those who ordered for delivery have received an email from Vodafone stating: “We’re sorry but we’re still waiting for stock from the manufacturer for your order.
"We know having to wait is frustrating, but don’t worry – you’ve got a spot on the waiting list and we’ll send your item(s) out as soon as possible.”
Powered by Oculus Rift, Samsung's Gear VR allows any Galaxy S7 and S8 to be transformed into a virtual reality headset.
The Korean tech giant recently announced a new version of the Gear VR which now includes a remote control and more comfortable design.
Some users have already received their free Gear VR
The news comes as Samsung fans who pre-ordered the S8 will begin receiving their devices today.
Anyone who placed an order before midnight last night has the chance to get it in their pocket eight days before everyone else.
Samsung is offering numerous ways to pay for the £689 Galaxy S8 and £779 S8+ with a single one-off payment and 0% finance both available via the official website.
Fans can also join Samsung’s Upgrade programme which offers the chance to switch to the new flagship each year.
