A police operation is currently underway in Barking after the London terror attacks
The dynamic police raid centred around a block of flats in the Barking area, which has now been taped off.
The operation is believed to have started around 7am.
Reports suggest a number of suspects were tackled by police - although the number of arrests has not yet been confirmed.
According to reports on Sky News, a witness claimed to see a number of women wearing Islamic dress speaking to police while the raid was being carried out.
Images have emerged of the arrests at Barking in East London
Police have established a cordon at the block of flats in Barking
There is currently no sense of a wider cordon or an evacuation surrounding the area, indicating there may not be any explosives at the scene.
According to earlier comments by Sky News Crime Correspondent Martin Brunt, the speed of the raid at in the east London tower block indicated that authorities had information about the identity of at least one of the London Bridge attackers.
Sources earlier said that further raids were being carried out at properties in Billericay, Essex - however, Essex police have confirmed that this is a separate incident and is not linked to the London Bridge attack.
This is a developing story - more to follow.
