Monchi to join Roma this summer
Monchi, a former goalkeeper for Sevilla, will end his 17-year spell as director of football at the La Liga club this summer.
The Spaniard has been credited with bringing the likes of striker Carlos Bacca, midfielder Ivan Rakitic and full-back Dani Alves to Sevilla during his time at the club.
Arsenal reportedly wanted Monchi as they look to transition away from Arsene Wenger
His transfers have been crucial in helping Sevilla to three successive Europa League triumphs before this season’s Champions League campaign, in which they reached the first knock-out round.
Monchi, who revealed earlier this month that he had offers from the Premier League, is confident of becoming Roma’s director of football this summer.

"It is not finalised but it is close to being finalised," he told AS. "If everything goes as planned then I'll join Roma, unless there is a twist.
"I remember when Marcelo arrived on a plane to sign for Sevilla but ended up at Real Madrid. That's why I don't want the bells to ring out until everything has been tied up."
