Robert Pires has revealed he has spoken to Alexis Sanchez about signing a new contract.
Sanchez has just 18 months to run on his current contract at the Emirates, but has yet to agree a new deal.
And Arsenal legend Pires has opened up on Sanchez’s state of mind by insisting the Chile international is only focusing on playing football.

“I spoke with Alexis last week and asked about his renewal,” Pires told Chilean newspaper La Tercera.
“He told me he did not know, that he only cared about playing.
“It is not subject for Alexis. He does not know what is going to happen, just wants to play and enjoy.”
Chelsea are interesting in a move for £35million-rated Benfica right-back Nelson Semedo, according to reports.
The Mirror say Chelsea are also looking at Semedo as Antonio Conte prepares to go head-to-head with Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho for Benfica defender Victor Lindelof.
Benfica are apparently open to selling their best players in the January transfer window to ease their cash crisis.
Liverpool are in talks with Sporting Lisbon over midfielder William Carvalho, according to reports in Portugal.
Carvalho has previously been linked with the likes of Arsenal and impressed for Portugal as they won Euro 2016 last summer.
And Portuguese sports paper A Bola claim Sporting want £25m for the 23-year-old.
Manchester United are set to compelete their third permanent transfer of the January window by selling Sean Moss to QPR.
The Sun say Moss is set to drop down to Championship outfit QPR for £500,000.
United boss Jose Mourinho has been clearing the decks this month having sold Morgan Schneiderlin to Everton for £24m and Memphis Depay to Lyon for £21.7m.
