Throughout his managerial career, Mourinho has not been shy in telling his players how he feels both publicly and behind closed doors.
This season, Luke Shaw has come under attack from the Portuguese coach.
And last night, the United boss appeared to blame his forward players for their 1-1 draw with Anderlecht last night.
But Ibrahimovic has described Mourinho as a "winner" and backed his method in dealing with players.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic has defended Jose Mourinho's methods
He told BT Sport: "I think he is the same winner. I feel he has a lot of patience with the team and he is keeping a balance where he needs to pull the trigger and not pull the trigger.
"It is almost like a gamble, how hard can you go, how hard can you not go with this team. How far can you go, how will they react.
"It's all about manipulation, to not get an unstable team. The team needs comfort to feel good, to get the maximum it can do. But he is very intelligent and knows what he needs to do."
