She was grilled during an ITV interview last night which focused heavily on her demands to be given a seat at the "Brexit negotiating table".
Interviewer Julie Etchingham repeatedly called her out on the impossibility of such a scenario as only the prime minister of the UK will be present.
Ms Sturgeon said: "Theresa May is the one who has called an election, presuming to get the views of the Scottish people.
"Is people vote SNP it strengthens my hand to get a place at the Brexit negotiating table."
Ms Etchingham quickly replied: "You're offering something you can't deliver! There is no prospect of you having a place."
When Ms Sturgeon attempted to clarify, she continued: "You specifically said 'at the Brexit negotiating table'. You have not got a place at that table!"

Ms Sturgeon said regardless of the likelihood, SNP votes would strengthen her demand to have a say.
Ms Ethchingham said in return: "It might strengthen you’re demand but it won’t get a place at that table."

Ms Sturgeon said Scotland needed a role during EU negotiations.

She said: "What you're saying is Scotland will have to sit back. Nobody in the rest of the UK is interested in what we have to say."
Later in the interview Ms Sturgeon said she would happily enter a “progressive alliance” with Labour, albeit not as a formal coalition.
She said: “If the arithmetic supported a progressive alliance, I would want to be part of that. Not as a formal coalition.
“But I don’t think Jeremy Corbyn will be in the position where the arithmetic can allow that.”
