Resident Evil 7 Xbox Scorpio upgrades
Resident Evil 7 developer Capcom isn't sure whether the game will be given an Xbox Scorpio upgrade later this year.
After ruling out a Resident Evil 7 Nintendo Switch port, Express Online asked producer Masachika Kawata and director Koshi Nakanishi if the game would receive any Xbox Scorpio optimisations.
And while the duo didn't rule out Xbox Scorpio support in the future, it's not something the studio is thinking about right now.
"It's the same with Switch, really. Because it's sort of not really out yet, it's something we've got no particular comments or plans on that one."
It would be a big surprise if the game didn't receive a performance boost on Xbox Scorpio, especially as PS4 Pro support was included at launch.
However, according to a recent report on Eurogamer, PS4 Pro only gave Resident Evil 7 a minor visual boost.
Masachika Kawata and director Koshi Nakanishi also discussed the game's influences, revealing that Sam Raimi's Evil Dead was a source of inspiration.

In terms of the Nintendo Switch, producer Masachika Kawata praised the console, before ruling out a port.
"I think it's a very unique piece of hardware," producer Masachika Kawata explained.
"I'm looking forward to the possibilities of the system itself, but we have no plans at the moment regarding Resident Evil on Switch."
Here's hoping that if the Nintendo Switch does take off, Resident Evil 7 will make an appearance further down the line.
Resident Evil 7 is set after the events of Resident Evil 6, and takes place in a foreboding, derelict plantation mansion in rural America.
It also ditches the third-person viewpoint used in previous games, opting instead for a brand new first-person style.
In fact, Capcom has even ported the game over to PlayStation VR, which means PS4 owners can play the entire game in virtual reality.
Fans can download the Resident Evil 7 Beginning Hour demo for a look at the new first-person gameplay style, while the Kitchen demo showcases the VR potential.
