Xbox One Backwards Compatibility news
Microsoft are currently holding a big sale on Ubisoft titles, including games such as Ghost Recon Wildlands and tactical, competitive shooter Rainbow Six Siege.
Discounts range from 25% to 50% and also include a bunch of DLC content and skins from a number of Tom Clancy games.
And it also appeared to hold some major Xbox One Backwards Compatibility list news.
The press release posted on the official Xbox site read: “Or if you’d prefer to play some of the modern classic Tom Clancy games, available on Xbox 360 and Xbox One through Backward Compatibility, Splinter Cell: Conviction and Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter are also discounted up to 67% off!”
However, this has since been updated with the Backwards Compatible reference removed.
Microsoft then went a step further, adding this editor's note to the article: “We incorrectly listed a few games as supporting Backward Compatibility on Xbox One. This was in error.
“We’ve updated the story below and apologize for the confusion.”
Tom Clancy's Splinter Cell Conviction currently has votes numbering over 20k asking for its official inclusion in the BC program.
Ghost Recon: Advanced Warfighter, meanwhile, has just over 6k currently posted by fans.
So while it doesn’t appear that either game will be playable on the Xbox One today, it should be noted that there is very little stopping them being added at a later date.
As Microsoft have explained in the past, it’s up to the original developer to decide if and when a game is made available via Backwards Compatibility.

There seems little reason why these two titles won’t be featured sometime in the future, however, there is no set guarantee they ever will.
