Trump has been in the Oval Office a matter of hours

The Republican directed federal agencies to “ease the burden of Obamacare” within hours of stepping into the Oval Office as President for the first time.

But the details of the first executive order have yet to be disclosed as the President looks to “repeal and replace” Obamacare.

The businessman has been a strong critic of the policy of former US President Obama and vowed to replace the policy in his first 100 days of office.

Sean Spicer, White House spokesman, told reporters Reince Preibus, the President’s Chief of Staff, will be sending a memo to agencies instructing an immediate regulatory freeze.

As well as making the historic executive order, Trump also signed the commissions for his Defence Secretary James Mattis and Homeland Security chief John Kelly after the pair were confirmed by the Senate yesterday.

US President Donald Trump points to the stands as he walks with his wife Melania during the Inaugural Parade.

It comes after Trump’s administration has wiped out references to some of Barack Obama's key policies just hours after he took office.

All references to The Patient Protection and Affordable Care Act also known as Obamacare have been erased from the website.

While references to the LBGT movement and climate change have also been taken down.

Instead, a number of pages referencing Mr Trump have cropped up online with a biography which describes him as "very definition of the American success story”.

The act was one of Obama's key policies during his time in office

The website also appears to promote Mr Trump's book deals as well as claiming that his election victory was a "miracle".

The statement reads: "Donald J. Trump is the very definition of the American success story.

"Throughout his life he has continually set the standards of business and entrepreneurial excellence, especially with his interests in real estate, sports, and entertainment.

"Likewise, his entry into politics and public service resulted in the Presidential victory in, miraculously, his first ever run for office."

Massive increases of ObamaCare will take place this year and Dems are to blame for the mess

Donald Trump

Just two weeks before his inauguration, Trump tweeted: epublicans must be careful in that the Dems own the failed ObamaCare disaster, with its poor coverage and massive premium increases…

"Like the 116% hike in Arizona. Also, deductibles are so high that it is practically useless. Don't let the Schumer clowns out of this web…

"Massive increases of ObamaCare will take place this year and Dems are to blame for the mess. It will fall of its own weight – be careful!"

Some 20 million previously uninsured Americans gained health coverage through the Affordable Care Act. Coverage was extended by expanding Medicaid and through online exchanges where consumers can receive income-based subsidies.

Democrats passed the Affordable Care Act in 2010 over united Republican opposition. Democrats say the act is insuring more Americans and helping to slow the growth in healthcare spending.

But Republicans say the system is not working. The average Obamacare premium is set to rise 25 per cent in 2017.
