Shocking photos appear to show show capital’s iconic red bus sticking out of the supermarket giant’s store in Old Kent Road, south east London.
A woman is believed to have been injured on the smash, which happened on Wednesday, and was rushed to hospital by the London Ambulance Service (LAS).
Photos from the scene show the windscreen of the bus smashed.
Horrified passers-by tweeted their shock at the sight, with one saying: “Did a bus just crash into #asda???”
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed it was called to a collision
Another wrote: “Bus no. 21 has literally driven into the front of Asda and crashed! old Kent road crazyness…”
The London Fire Brigade (LFB) confirmed it was called to a collision between a bus and a ’street furniture’ just before 11.30am.
The bus in question is thought to have been the number 21
A spokesman said: “One woman was injured and she was escorted off the bus by LFB crews and taken to hospital by paramedics.”
Police, paramedics and fire crews rushed to the scene after receiving reports of the crash earlier today.

A spokesman for the LAS said: “We have some crews on the scene at the moment – an ambulance crew and a single responder in a car.”

The bus in question is thought to have been the number 21, which goes from Lewisham to Newington Green.
