The next addition to Windows 10, codenamed Redstone 3, is scheduled for launch later this autumn, nearly two years after the original release.
Now, it seems that Microsoft has finally taken the first steps towards building Redstone 3 ahead of its launch later this year.
Windows tracking site BuildFeed detected that Microsoft has now finished compiling Windows 10 Build 15141 – one of the first expected Redstone 3 versions.
The new addition was identified thanks to its usage of a previous software release branch used by the Windows 10 Creators Update when it was in development.
With this now ported over to a more public system ahead of its release, Redstone 3 has now assumed its status as the next big Microsoft work in progress.

Microsoft let slip its Windows 10 schedule earlier this week
Redstone 3 has long been expected, but the first official confirmation of the new software only came earlier this week.
The company revealed the news at a Microsoft Ignite Windows 10 event in Australia, where its plans to launch another major update later this year were displayed to attendees.
More information about the new update is expected to be revealed at Microsoft’s Build conference in May.
Redstone 3 is expected to bring a number of much-needed updates for Windows 10 as Microsoft looks to get its software on as many devices as possible.
This includes an all-new design for Windows 10, with the update bringing a fresh look for the software.
Codenamed ‘Project Neon’, the new-look Windows 10 appears to bring in a number of stylistic improvements, including boosted animations and blue to apps.
Microsoft has already made the new tools available to developers, as part of its aims to help teams build new and ‘beautiful apps’.
Project Neon is also set to bring a number of improvements to Windows 10’s 3D functions, and the link between the software and its HoloLens headset.
