William Gallas expects Arsene Wenger's situation to be resolved at the end of the season

Arsene Wenger has come under pressure this month as Arsenal have slipped off the pace in the Premier League.

Defeat to Watford and a 3-1 drubbing by Chelsea last weekend has seen the Gunners slump to fourth in the table – 12 points off top spot.

And the fans have begun to make their voices heard, calling for Wenger to leave as he enters the final five months of his contract.

However, former defender William Gallas does not think Wenger will walk away mid-season and he fully expects a "solution" to be found in the summer.

"Maybe it is time to change something at the end of the season," Gallas told talkSPORT.

"We can't forget what he did for the club. He did a very, very good job so sometimes you can't sack the manager like this.

"You have to respect the manager. That is why I said at the end of the season maybe the board has to speak with Arsene and try to find a solution."

Reports have suggested Wenger has already been offered a new two-year deal by the club, keeping him at the Emirates until 2019.

The 67-year-old has been in charge of the Gunners since 1996, winning three Premier League titles and six FA Cups.
