Dando was gunned down on the doorstep of her London home in 1999, and now investigative reporter Mark Williams-Thomas has vowed to find her murderer.
During today’s instalment of the ITV show, Thomas spoke to a former professional killer who suggested he knew who shot the newsreader but couldn’t elaborate for fears his life would be in danger.
While looking at images of several suspects who have been linked to the case, the anonymous figure said: “It was definitely someone professional. They are definitely highly dangerous, I’d say.”
He added: “One stands out to me, but I wouldn’t identify that person. I couldn’t because it’s very dangerous, they would come after me.”

Speaking to hosts Holly Willoughby, 35, and Phillip Schofield, 54, Thomas revealed the elusive character was “scared” to share more on camera, but did say who he thought killed the star.
Thomas also stressed that he’d never seen a case where so much information hadn’t been followed up.
Speculating as to why the TV personality was targeted, Thomas pinned it down to her work on Crimewatch.
