Tom Brady earned more than his wife Gisele Bündchen in 2016, according to Forbes

The quarterback led the New England Patriots to a historic victory over the Atlanta Falcons at the Super Bowl in Houston, Texas, on Sunday.

The American footballer’s net worth is $180 million, well below his wife Gisele Bündchen’s net worth of $360 million, according to the Celebrity Net Worth website.

Supermodel Gisele was ranked as the 99th highest paid celebrity in 2016 while Brady took the 54th highest paid spot on the Forbes list.

Brady’s earnings were estimated to be $44 million in 2016 thanks to his high salary, winnings and endorsements for the year.

In March 2016, Brady signed a contract extension with the Patriots, which included a $28 million signing bonus.

The two-year contract extension will keep him with the team through the 2019 season and stacked on the three-year deal he signed in 2015.

After the Super Bowl victory on Sunday, there are reports that the Patriots are looking to extend his contract again.

The American footballer is one of the most famous athletes in the US and helped the Patriots claim their fifth Super Bowl title on Sunday.

Forbes estimates that Brady earned $8 million in endorsements in 2016 – including deals with UGG Boots and Under Armour.
