Speaking at Prime Minister’s Questions, she said: “I recognise that there is an appetite in this house to see that plan set out in a white paper.
“I can confirm to the house that our plan will be set out in a white paper published in this house.”
The Government has refused to say when the document will be released, or whether it will be published ahead of the Article 50 vote.
A party spokesman said: “We now want to see the timing and it is clear the white paper needs to come to parliament in time for the debate.
“MPs have a right to be able to see what the government’s plan of action is. [Mrs May’s] speech is not adequate. It set out a wish-list of options.”

What is a white paper?
A white paper is a policy document produced by the Government to set out proposals for future legislation.
It may include a draft version of a bill that is being planned and may provide a basis for consultation and discussion before legislation is formally presented to Parliament.
The Brexit white paper will formalise Mrs May’s position on EU negotiations and will formalise the vision that she laid out in a speech on January 17 – a United Kingdom outside of the single market with a new free trade agreement and stronger British borders.
