Those are the thoughts of former Chelsea striker-turned-pundit Tony Cascarino.
Ozil’s form has been questioned of late, especially his anonymous display in the 3-1 defeat to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge 11 days ago.
Wenger has refused to confirm whether the German midfield maestro will start against the Bavarians tonight (7.45pm) in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie in the Allianz Arena.
But Cascarino has urged Wenger to pick an industrious, dynamic side that can handle the power of Bayern.
And he thinks Ozil should be dropped.
“Arsene [Wenger] must pick an athletic and dynamic team,” Cascarino told The Times.

Arsene Wenger has been urged to drop Mesut Ozil against Bayern Munich
“He must be clinical and this means there is no room for Mesut [Ozil].
“Bayern are a great side but they have some older players, particularly in defence and midfield and Arsenal must be energetic in their pressing and also break at pace. My XI would give them a chance to do that.
“Danny Welbeck as a central striker can cause Mats Hummels problems — he has technical ability, great energy and pace and can finish one-on-one chances.
“That would push Alexis Sánchez out wide but he and Theo Walcott are perfect players to press and then create and score chances on the counterattack.”
Arsenal have stumbled at the last-16 stages for the past six seasons on the spin.
