Usain Bolt has been stripped of his 2008 relay gold
Bolt's team-mate Nesta Carter has been disqualified for a doping violation, the International Olympic Committee has revealed.
It means Bolt and, along with Carter, and Michael Frater and Asafa Powell have been stripped of their medals from the Beijing Olympics.
Bolt, 30, did hold nine Olympic golds prior to today's announcement.
"Nesta Carter, 31, of Jamaica, competing in the men’s 4x100m relay event (round 1 and final) in which he and his teammates ranked 1st and for which they were awarded the gold medal, has been disqualified from the Olympic Games Beijing 2008," an IOC statement read.
"Re-analysis of Carter’s samples from Beijing 2008 resulted in a positive test for the prohibited substance methylhexaneamine."
