Man United transfer news

Zlatan Ibrahimovic has spoken to Anthony Martial about the player’s future at Manchester United, according to reports.

Martial is supposedly upset about his lack of game time at Old Trafford this season.

He was linked with a loan move to Sevilla earlier in this transfer window but manager Jose Mourinho ruled out a switch.

And the Daily Telegraph claim Ibrahimovic has given some advice to Martial over his situation.

According to the report, the Swede told Martial to keep plugging away at United and he will get his chance to perform for Mourinho.

Martial could start for United in the FA Cup tomorrow when they host Wigan (4pm).

Here are 20 deals we expect to see before the transfer window closes

Leeds United transfer news

Leeds United must offer star striker Chris Wood a new contract or risk losing him to a big-money offer, former player Andy Ritchie has warned.

Leeds striker Wood has been in top form for the Championship club this season, scoring 20 goals in 31 appearances.

His richness in front of goal has sparked interest from the Chinese Super League in the New Zealand international’s availability.

And Ritchie wants Leeds to act quick and stop Wood leaving.

“Twenty goals for the season is absolutely brilliant at this stage,” Ritchie told the Yorkshire Evening Post.

“And who’s to say he won’t go on and reach potentially 30 goals this season.

“It’s definitely possible, unless he gets injured, and I don’t want to jinx that. Hopefully he has had his injury which was earlier on in the season.

“But he’s showing what he can become and to score 20 goals or more at Championship level is a feat in itself because it’s a tough, tough league. He must be worth double figures now in terms of millions.

“People might just reserve judgment a little bit until the end of the season but I’d be surprised if Leeds hadn’t had any enquiries already.

“He’s not a one-hit wonder, he has had a few goals but this is by far his best season and I think there will be a lot of people scanning him at the moment, I don’t doubt that at all.

“But Leeds have got to make sure they keep him, even if that means maybe opening talks on a new deal. It might need that.”

Liverpool transfer news

Liverpool have reportedly been alerted to Roma midfielder Leandro Paredes’ availability with just days of the transfer window remaining.

Italian broadcaster Sky Sport Italia claim Roma are keen to sell Paredes before Tuesday’s deadline after signing Clement Grenier on loan from Lyon.

Roma want £25.6million for Paredes, having rejected an £18m offer from Liverpool last summer.

And Four Four Two claim the Reds, along with Arsenal and Chelsea, could move for the Argentine within the coming days.
