18:55: Liverpool are "very close" to signing Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, according to pundit Micky Quinn.
Manchester City are said to be keen on offering over £50million for the Dutch defender's services but Quinn thinks Jurgen Klopp's side are in pole position for his signature.
"I said to Danny (Kelly, talkSPORT presenter) yesterday Liverpool are very close to signing him," Quinn said on talkSPORT.
"Now, it could be like buying a house, you could get gazumped in the market, I don't know.
"Liverpool are very close and you have a look at all the bookmakers at the moment, he's as short as 1/2, 2/5 to sign for Liverpool."

17.55: Arsenal remain in the race for Southampton defender Virgil van Dijk, according to the Daily Mail.

Van Dijk only signed a six year-contract last summer.
17.20: Chelsea are in pole position to sign Monaco star Tiemoue Bakayoko, according to French publication Foot Mercato.
Manchester United and Liverpool are both tracking the midfielder but Antonio Conte's side are leading the race.
They say the Blues have put a five-year contract on the table.
16:50: Manchester United have reportedly turned their attention to Werder Bremen striker Max Kruse.
Manchester United manager Jose Mourinho is said to have been impressed by Kruse's end-of-season form for Werder Bremen.
Kruse bagged 15 goals in 23 appearances this term – despite missing the opening 10 games through injury – including 11 in his final 11 outings.
And according to Goal, the 29-year-old has made his way onto Mourinho's wanted list going into the summer transfer window.
16.23: Liverpool have signed youngster Patrik Raitanen up to a professional contract.
Raitanen will move up to Steven Gerrard's U18s team after penning a four-year deal.

"I had the choice but I chose wisely. No (regrets), not at all."
15.35: Everton have been handed a huge boost in their pursuit of Malaga striker Sandro Ramirez, claims the Liverpool Echo.

Our man in the Midlands is on the case. More as we have it….
14.45: Ryan Jack has signed for Rangers on a free transfer to become the club's second signing of the summer.
Jack left Aberdeen earlier this week after his contract expired. And he follows Bruno Alves into Ibrox as part of Pedro Caixinha's rebuild.
The midfielder signs a three-year-deal and says: “I’ve just spoken with the manager briefly and he told me his plans and what he expects from the team and of me.
“I’m sure when I come back in for pre-season I’ll know a lot more about what’s happening and what’s to come.
“But obviously coming to a club like Rangers, it’s always exciting and the European football is a massive appeal. That’s something I’m looking forward to, a European night at Ibrox.
14:33: So could Antoine Griezmann sign for Manchester United?
The answer is simple – yes.
Sources close to United are saying Griezmann is now not a priority, which makes sense.
The club desperately want to prioritise signing a No.9, instead, because Zlatan Ibrahimovic is injured. That too makes sense.
But although Griezmann is not a priority, it doesn’t mean they won’t sign him. Only a fool would rule out the move happening altogether.
Tottenham Transfer News: Spurs and Liverpool are interested in signing PSV right-back Santiago Arias
13:50: Tottenham are considering an approach for PSV Eindhoven right-back Santiago Arias, reports claim.
According to AS Colombia, Spurs are interested in luring Arias to the Premier League as a replacement for Kyle Walker.
Manchester City are already on course to spend over £100million in the opening stages of the transfer window, and expect that total to rise with Walker on Pep Guardiola’s shortlist.
It’s believed Spurs will battle Premier League rivals Liverpool for his services.
13:40: Roma have rejected Liverpool’s £29.5m bid for former Chelsea outcast Mohamed Salah, according to reports in Italy.
Salah, 24, failed to seize his opportunity at Stamford Bridge but has reignited his career in Italy after notching up 15 goals in 31 Serie A appearances.
Despite seeing their initial offer rejected, it’s believed Jurgen Klopp’s side will return with an increased bid as they look to bolster their ranks ahead of next season's Champions League involvement.
12:45: Express Sport understand Manchester United have turned their attentions to Everton star Romelu Lukaku and Torino talisman Andrea Belotti after cooling their interest in Antoine Griezmann.
The Red Devils were hotly tipped to sign Griezmann but the severity of Zlatan Ibrahimovic’s knee ligament damage means the club are now searching for an out-and-out striker.
The Belgian international’s agent Mino Raiola revealed yesterday that Lukaku would be allowed to leave if ‘certain clubs’ came knocking with a fee in the region of £100m.
Meanwhile Belotti, who netted 25 goals in 29 Serie A appearances this season, would represent a cheaper alternative.
But Torino still expect any prospective buyer to meet the £85m release clause in his contract.
12:30: Arsenal and Chelsea target Corentin Tolisso has sparked a transfer frenzy after admitting he’s considering leaving Lyon.
The 22-year-old's impressive displays have seen the Ligue 1 outfit slap a £43m asking-price on his head, with no shortage of admirers.
Tolisso told French newspaper Le Progres: "If there are offers I will study them with my advisors and my parents, then I will go and tell the president that I want to leave.
"I've listened to his words, he's said there have been no new offers, so when we talk together I would like the situation to be clarified as soon as possible."

12:15: Manchester United have cooled their interest in Atletico Madrid star Antoine Griezmann.
The France international has frequently been linked with a move to Old Trafford, but the long-term injury to Zlatan Ibrahimovic means Jose Mourinho is searching for genuine striker.
Express Sport understand United intend to make three or four high-quality additions this summer, but Griezmann might not be one of them.
12:10: Liverpool have been dealt a hammer blow in their pursuit of Monaco full-back Benjamin Mendy.
According to Sky Sports, Mendy has chosen Manchester City over Liverpool, with an official deal to be formalised in the coming days.
The £40m-rated French international would constitute Pep Guardiola’s third summer signing after Ederson and Bernardo Silva – taking their summer outlay to over £100million.

12:05: Chelsea are interested in signing Fulham stopper Marcus Bettinelli.
The Blues are searching for a back-up goalkeeper to play second-fiddle to Thibaut Courtois having sold Asmir Begovic to Bournemouth earlier this week.
According to the Daily Mail, Antonio Conte’s side have already made an enquiry, but it remains unclear whether Bettinelli, 25, would accept limited first-team action.
12:00: Arsenal and Chelsea are locked in a battle to sign Lyon star Corentin Tolisso.
Arsene Wenger is a known admirer of the £50m-rated midfielder and was reportedly in the driving seat to secure his signature.
However, French publication L’Equipe claim Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas was in London to discuss a possible deal for Bertrand Traore, which the Blues used as an opportunity to talk about Tolisso.
