Tory MP clashes with SNP MP who claims Bercow is "pro-equality"
Shortly after Ahmed-Sheikh made an impassioned tirade where she claimed Bercow combatted Parliament’s “playground politics” and decried the “bullyboys” that dominate the lobby, Mr Sherbrooke calmly schooled the SNP minister on House of Commons regulations.

However Mr Sherbrook refuted the remarks, saying: “I think it’s very unfortunate that the Speaker involved himself in a political debate. I don’t support all the policies of Donald Trump and I certainly don’t like his alleged assaults to women. But the Speaker must stay above the political argument.”
The 41-year-old Tory MP then singled out the Speaker and urged him to “stay out” of conversations and debates between politicians because they are “political” and he has a duty to stay independent.

A smirking Ahmed-Sheikh said there was an “alternative agenda at play” behind the plot to oust the Speaker of his high-post role.
She said: “Increasingly we’ve seen in the House of Commons this playground politics, these bullyboy tactics and politicising the Speaker themselves because they want to replace him with someone of their point of view.”
Ahmed-Sheikh added: “Now, we’re kind of fed up of this. We have a speaker… who has pro-equality in the chamber calls men and women with equal measure… and reports equality even across members of staff.
“We need to take the House of Commons out of this Hogwarts debating society that many Tory’s want it to be.”

John Bercow could lose his position as speaker after a Tory MP set a motion to oust him
Sherbrooke simply replied: “Tasmina and I will debate the rights and wrongs of Donald Trump and I’m sure we may have much common ground. But it’s not the role of the speaker.”
Ahmed-Sheikh’s comments hailed Bercow as a ”pro-equality" champion after Tory MP James Duddridge’s tabled motion to oust him.
The MP for Rochford and Southend East described Mr Bercow's comments – which called out the billionaire businessman's "racism" and "sexism" – as "wholly inappropriate".
