Host Phillip Schofield’s microphone stopped working properly halfway through the show, leading him to get up and reveal that water was dripping into the ITV building.
Halfway through a conversation with co-presenter Holly Willoughby, the 55-year-old mic’s seemed to suffer a fault and picked up lots of interference when he tried to speak.
“Your microphone’s gone dodge,” Holly, 36, told her This Morning colleague.
“That’s the rain. Let me show you something,” Phillip responded as he got up and walked across the room.
“Oh no, don’t out us!” Holly exclaimed as she could only watch him march with purpose to behind the iconic This Morning sofa.
Phillip continued to the camera, saying: “Come over here. Oh no! they’ve moved them! They’ve moved the buckets.

“There were three buckets on the other side that pillar down there and because it made a noise during the chats, they’ve taken them out.”
He went on to point at a wet patch on the wooden floor of the studio that looked like it was getting progressively wetter by the minute as more drops fell from the ceiling.

“It’s absolutely sopping down here. So maybe it’s a bit of rain that’s got in my mic,” he added.

Holly could only quip: “You know it’s bad when it’s raining indoors!”
It then emerged that it was actually Holly’s mic that was playing up rather than Phil’s but it was quickly fixed.
