Jeffrey Dean Morgan, who plays dastardly villain and all-round psychopath Negan, has revealed that Carl Grimes (played by Chandler Riggs) could be joining the dark side.
In a recent interview at The Walking Dead fan event Walker Stalker Cruise, the 50-year-old actor said: "Negan likes Carl. There's something in Carl that Negan sees."
The American star continued: “He likes Carl. Carl is a ballsy motherf***er. He sees a little bit maybe of himself in him.”
“He says, 'If I had a kid, I want him to be just like you.' There's something about Carl that intrigues Negan,” reported Comicbook.
This is not the first time that Jeffrey has addressed the relationship between Carl and Negan, last year he also spoke about the strange dynamic.
He explained that Negan feels paternal towards Carl and if he had a son it would want him to be like Carl.
Negan and Carl could team up in The Walking Dead season 7

Jeffrey added that Negan “respects” Carl, partly because the teenager has never “backed away” from the brutal baddie.
"His dad has been in tears and no one else will make eye contact, yet Carl never breaks eye contact with Negan during the lineup or anything else, anything we've shot,”Jeffrey told Entertainment Weekly.
Fellow actor Lennie James has also dropped some hints about the second half of season seven of The Walking Dead, saying that there would be two or three “losses”.

The Walking Dead season 7 spoiler: Rick betrayed as he declares to 'all out war' on Negan
Rick Grimes is confronted by Negan in The Walking Dead
The 51-year-old British star spoke about the upcoming war against Negan and his Saviors that will see much violence and bloodshed.
“In the second eight you’ll be introduced to one, maybe two new worlds. There are a couple – two, three major losses and there is a push towards war.” However, Lennie did not drop any hints about who could be facing the chop.
He went on to add: “Those of us from Rick’s group are learning about the breadth of Negan’s dominion and who that entails and how far it spreads and how long it’s been going on.”
The Walking Dead season 7 returns to FOX UK on February 13.
