Elder Scrolls Online Morrowind arrives very soon on PS4, Xbox One and PC
The Elder Scrolls Online originally launched back in April 2014 for PC and Mac, before expanding onto both the Xbox One and PS4.
It’s a game that has dabbled with different pay schemes before settling on the Tamriel Unlimited ESO Plus system, which grants access to all current and future downloadable content.
And the popular MMO will soon see one of its biggest expansions yet, The Elder Scrolls Online: Morrowind.
Some fans already have Early Access to it on PC, although Rich Lambert, Creative Director at Zenimax Online Studios, doesn’t believe there’s much chance of a content burn out before the official release on June 6.
That’s because Morrowind aims to offer at least 30hrs+ of new game time, although it’s more likely that players will get months of enjoyment from it.
“I think the biggest take away – for either the new or existing player – is that there is something in Morrowind for everyone, Lambert told Express Online.
“As a new player, you’ll find a new tutorial, a new class and, because the game is not level restricted, you have the freedom to explore the game as you wish.
“For existing players, we have 30+ hours of new story content to explore, that new class as mentioned, a new 12 person trial, an entirely new mode of PVP to participate in as well as lots of new items, furnishing and gear to collect.”

One of the most exciting pieces of new content will be the Warden Class, the first since the game’s original launch.
Lambert spoke more on the subject, confirming that the studio don’t have any further plans to add more classes anytime soon.

“Creating a new class is a lot of work, especially in a game like ESO where the player has the freedom to use any weapon/armor type and has access to a huge number of skill lines,” Lambert adds.
“Also, there are a lot of balance implications when adding a new class, so we had to take our time and really ensure that the skills and passives we were adding fitted into the overall balance paradigm.
“As for a new class? That is really going to come down to when it makes sense for the game. We definitely don’t have plans to add another one anytime soon, though.”
When asked just how many hours he thought Morrowind could extend the game, even for the most hardcore players, Lambert reassured there was plenty to enjoy.
“Depends on where your interests lie and how you play. If you are solely focused on the quests, listening to the dialog and exploring, there is well over 30 hours of new content to enjoy (we were pretty conservative in that estimate).

“If you only care about PVP or end game trials, that is harder to put a ‘time to complete/mastery on’ as those are much more focused on repeatable activities while playing with your friends/guildmates.
“Put them all together, and you will have plenty of things to do for a few months!”
