The lucky competitors managed to answer 17 questions correctly to put a good amount of distance between the cash prize and the chaser.
While they were originally concerned that Shaun would easily catch up to them, they needn't have worried as he failed to stop them from winning.
He answered several questions incorrectly, which gave them a chance to "push back" and give themselves a greater chance of securing the money.
Many at home were shocked by Shaun's performance, with some suggesting he gave several wrong answers in order to help the contestants win. Others however, insisted it was time for him to retire from his role.
