Samsung Galaxy S8 release in pictures
Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ were unveiled on-stage last week.
Samsung's latest phone boasts a stunning new design that builds on the beautiful dual-curved displays of its predecessor, and yet simultaneously, looks unlike anything else before it.
The display on the Samsung Galaxy S8 bleeds to the very edge of the chassis, ensuring the physical footprint of the device remains manageable – despite the size of the screen.
Samsung has dubbed its stunning new edge-to-edge design, Infinity Display. Both the front and back of the Galaxy S8 range will be protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 5.
The Galaxy S8 sports a 5.8inch Quad HD+ display that packs an impressive 570 pixels per inch.
There's also a variation with a larger 6.2inch Quad HD+ display, which the South Korean technology company will market as the Samsung Galaxy S8+.
Both smartphones ship with 64GB of in-built storage, with the option to increase that up to 256GB via microSD support.
The most powerful version of the Samsung Galaxy S8 Plus might not be coming to the UK
Powering the Samsung Galaxy S8 and Galaxy S8+ is the industry’s first 10nm chip, enabling heightened speed and efficiency.
Well, that's what we thought.
But it turns out Samsung has another – much beefier – version of its hotly-anticipated Galaxy S8 smartphone planned.
The technology giant will release a more powerful Galaxy S8+ will an eye-watering 6GB of RAM and 128GB of in-built storage, according to a new report from ETNews.

Unfortunately, there's a catch. This steroidic Galaxy S8+ will only be available in South Korea and China at launch.
Samsung has trimmed back the bezels around the display, leaving nothing but display
Samsung has not spoken out about the powerful new variation of its smartphone, but there is a listing for the new configuration listed on its Korean website.
According to ETNews, the new high-end Galaxy S8+ will cost around $1,020, roughly £820, and will ship with the DeX desktop dock, which lets the smartphone function as a computer.
Hopefully, Samsung will decide to bring this awesome offer to the UK in the coming months.
Compatible with only the Galaxy S8 for now, Samsung DeX provides an Android-based desktop-like experience that lets smartphone owners access apps, edit documents, browse the web, watch videos, reply to messages and more, directly from the smartphone on a larger display, keyboard and mouse.
Essentially, it’s a completely redesigned Android user interface optimised for use with a desktop keyboard and mouse.
DeX transforms the Android 7.0 operating system into a complete desktop computing experience
Like a standard desktop operating system, Samsung has included multiple resizable windows, contextual menus and a desktop version of your smartphone's web browser.
Partnerships with Microsoft and Adobe allow Samsung DeX to work with Microsoft Office and Adobe mobile apps, including Adobe Acrobat Reader mobile and Lightroom Mobile, allowing desktop-like functionality and a user interface previously unavailable from a smartphone.
Samsung DeX requires a standalone desktop dock, which is sold separately.
The Samsung Galaxy S8 will retail at £689 in the UK. Meanwhile, the larger 6.2inch Galaxy S8+ will retail at £779.
