North Korea has claimed its missiles are intended to strike the US
The Pentagon spokesman, Gary Ross, said: ”We are exploring a new range of diplomatic, security and economic measures and all options are on the table.
“North Korea’s unlawful weapons programmes represent a clear, grave threat to US national security.
"North Korea openly states that its ballistic missiles are intended to deliver nuclear weapons to strike cities in the Unites States, the Republic of Korea, and Japan.”
US Defence Secretary, James Mattis, said: “You’re aware that the leader of North Korea again recklessly tried to provoke something by launching a missile.
“It was not an intercontinental ballistic missile, it failed on launch, and it shows why we’re working so closely right now with the Chinese.”
