The Sky News host refused to let the SNP leader off the hook after she repeatedly dodged accusations that she had left Scotland poorer.
When Mrs Sturgeon deflected the failures of the SNP reign onto the Tory Government, Ridge asked her point-blank: "You do have to take responsibility, don’t you?"
Sophy Ridge took Nicola Sturgeon to task over her record in Scotland
Referring to the shocking exchange on Question Time, Ridge said: "This week a nurse took you to task for having to rely on food parcels because of the pay freeze imposed by your government and she is not alone is she? Do you know how many food parcels were delivered to Scotland last year?"
However, Mrs Sturgeon infuriated Ridge by refusing to answer the question and blaming the food bank crisis on a "nationwide problem".
Ridge hit back: "You didn't quite answer what I said. The Trussell Trust says that it provided more than 140,000 packages to people in crisis in Scotland last year, I mean I know that you want to say that this is a UK wide issue but you do have to take responsibility as well don’t you? You have been in government a long time."
When the Scottish First Minister blamed the food bank growth on Tory welfare cuts, Ridge ripped into the stance.
She pointed out that the SNP has cut funding to councils and refused to raise taxes.

Ridge also laid into Mrs Sturgeon for complaining about Conservatives cuts to the police service.
Stunned, the TV host said: "But you have cut the police too?
"The force is apparently facing a funding black hole of £188million by 2021."
Users on social media hit out at the SNP leader for refusing to take responsibility and playing a blame game.
Others remarked that Mrs Sturgeon was "skewered on foodbanks and SNP local government cuts".
