The mother-of-three hit back at the Twitter user who believed she had blamed her co-host and weather girl Laura Tobin for infecting her.
"Someone's infectious," Susanna Reid tweeted. "Going home to blitz the murmurings of a cold with Vit C, zinc, echinacea and anything else I might find in the cupboard."
Although her fans were quick to voice their concern, many replying with tips for good medicines for colds – with a surprising number suggesting gin – one Twitter user hit out at the presenter for her apparent dig at Good Morning Britain's Laura.

"The lovely Laura was just doing her job," they said. "How do you know she infected you? You could have caught it from a cup of coffee."
The 35-year-old meteorologist has come down with a heavy cold this week, leaving her with a deep voice that left co-hosts Ben Shephard and Kate Garraway in hysterics as they likened her to RnB singer Barry White.
Another of Susanna's fans quickly jumped in to defend her, pointing out that her tweet had only said 'someone' and hadn't actually blamed Laura for her illness.
Susanna also hit back, quoting the accusing tweet and responding that she wasn't blaming Laura.
Susanna and Laura seemed to be getting along fine when they joked with each other on Twitter earlier
Laura made fun of herself on Thursday when her cold left her with a very deep voice
There didn't appear to be any bad feelings between the pair, as only an hour earlier they were joking together on Twitter when Susanna tagged Laura in a tweet saying: "That moment when you call someone on air the name you call them off air"
Laura responded, saying: "Ha! I sometimes do that with @RichardAArnld #dickie"
Laura's 'Barry White' voice caused by her illness tickled GMB viewers last Thursday when the weather presenter chose to make the best of her awkward situation by slipping some of the singer's lyrics into her weather update.
She later tweeted asking if viewers had noticed, and continued to make fun of her own hilariously low voice later that night, saying: "Night, I'm off to bed. Join @gmb from 6am to see who I'll sound like! Will it be Barry again?"
Good Morning Britain airs weekdays at 6am on ITV.
