The broadcaster, 46, called out the Conservative MP, 52, over the figures live on air after he was asked how many of the estimated 400 terrorists coming into the country were being excluded from Britain.
Earlier on in the interview, Johnson told her and co-host Piers Morgan that the current Home Secretary Amber Rudd was “making decisions on a daily basis” about excluding people from the UK.
As the interview continued and the interview moved onto Johnson’s criticism of Labour’s policy stance, Reid chipped in as she called him out.
“I’m so sorry to interrupt but while you’ve been talking, I’ve just looked up how often we have used these powers to prevent Britons from returning to the UK after they’ve taken part in terrorism overseas,” she told him.
Reid continued as Johnson continued to talk on: “Those powers introduced in 2015. According to a report from May 29, the Home Secretary says they have only been used once.”
Boris was heard talking over her, saying: “The Home Secretary is making daily decisions.”

She added: “We’ve had 400 people returning to the UK after committing terrorism overseas and those powers have only been used once.”
When she finally finished asking him a question, Johnson said: “I’ve already given you a very clear answer and explanation for that, which is that we operate under the rule of law. These people do have British passports and we have a highly litigious culture, which they are protected by tax payer-funded lawyers and their rights are vindicated before the courts.

“We have to operate within the law. What we are now saying is that of course we will review these procedures. We will review our counter-terrorism measures but I have to tell you, I find it a bit rich to have criticism of policing from the Labour Party when we protected budgets in 2015.”
