David Moyes is struggling to lure his transfer targets to Sunderland

Moyes wants Norwich winger Robbie Brady and Everton defender Phil Jagielka with the former likely to prove too costly and the latter reluctant to join a club who could be playing in the Championship next season.

Asked if he was struggling to persuade players to sign, he said: "It's difficult. I have found that already.

"I will always tell players how fantastic it is to play at a stadium that gets over 40,000 every week. We have fantastic training facilities. You're coming to work with a manager who wants to build and improve you.

West Brom boss Tony Pulis has backed Jake Livermore to challenge for an England recall

"But a lot of people will look and say the league position is difficult. And you need a level of finance to go to a certain level of player."

After finally offloading Saido Berahino to Stoke for £12million, manager Tony Pulis says Jake Livermore's move to The Hawthorns can help him challenge for an England recall.

Livermore, who completed a £10m move from Hull yesterday, has yet to add to his first England cap, won in 2012.

Who has your club signed in the January transfer window?

But Pulis believes the 27-year-old can get back in contention if he makes the most of his switch to the Midlands.

"We'd love to get him back to that level," said Pulis. "I think the kid would love to get back to that level too.

"Having spoken to him a few times, his aim, after getting himself fit again, is to play to a very good level again. His aim is to come here and improve and improve with the team hopefully.

"It's a fresh start for the lad and he's looking forward to it."
