Daryl Murphy joined Newcastle from Ipswich last summer on a two-year deal for around £3million.
The striker's fee could rise to £4m if Rafa Bentitez's side return to the Premier League next season.
And Murphy has admitted he fully intends on staying at St James' Park if the club go up, despite sitting on the sidelines this term.

Murphy has been sidelined this season with a calf injury which saw him miss 14 games in all competitions.
He has made seven Championship appearances this term, scoring two goals and providing two assists.
