Raheem Sterling was a menace last night for City as they beat Monaco 5-3 in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie at the Etihad.
The 22-year-old scored the opener and provided an assist for Sergio Aguero too.
Gerrard knows Sterling well from their time spent together at Liverpool before the latter moved to City in a £49million deal in the summer of 2015.

And the Anfield legend is adamant Sterling’s game has significantly improved, especially since Pep Guardiola took over the reins.
“Having worked with him, I know what he puts into his training,” Gerrard told BT Sport.
“I know how much he wants to learn. He goes to managers, he goes to people for advice and he’s prepared to improve and he listens.
“What he does is work for the team both ways – he does a hell of a shift defensively and he breaks the line with his running.
“He’s aggressive and he’s starting to add assists and goals to his game.
“He’s getting to that point where you have to describe him amongst the best.”
