Star Wars Battlefront 2 releases November 17 on PS4, Xbox One and PC
UPDATE ONE: The Star Wars Battlefront 2 release date has been confirmed today during the official “The Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront 2."
It was revealed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 is set to launch on PS4, PC, and Xbox One on November 17.
It was already known that the new Star Wars title was set to land late in 2017, along with a new single-player adventure.
The new character, Iden Versio, was talked about during the new panel and is an established Imperial commander, with the story mainly told from the Empire perspective.
It was also confirmed that fans will be able to play portions of the game as Luke Skywalker and Kylo Ren, with Game Director Mark Thompson also revealing that players will control different characters during different segments of the story.
Mulltiplayer wise, Battlefront 2 will offer greater customization options, featuring trooper classes as well as an upgrade system that will also be linked to heroes.

While the Star Wars Battlefront 2 trailer may have leaked earlier, there was nothing to suggest the release date of the new game.
A launch window is likely to be supplied during the Star Wars Celebrations on April 15 at 7.30pm UK time.
The Star Wars YouTube channel has a live stream running through the course of the weekend, giving coverage to all the big news, having already shown The Last Jedi trailer.
The panel is officially called “The Galaxywide Premiere of Star Wars Battlefront 2” and is the best bet for finding out the official release date of the game.

The brief Battlefront 2017 teaser trailer was leaked earlier this week, revealing new gameplay details and pre-order bonuses, but no launch details.
The trailer hints at a new single-player mode, telling fans that they will play an "untold soldier's story".
And it looks like the multiplayer has also been expanded. According to the trailer, fans will be able to battle across all eras.
Pre-order customers, meanwhile, will receive Star Wars: The Last Jedi heroes, which presumably means they'll be able to play as characters from the new film.
It was recently revealed that Star Wars Battlefront 2 2017 will be playable during EA’s E3 event this year.
