And while City bosses remain determined to stick by Guardiola, Spanish journalist Balague doesn't believe the boss will agree to a possible two-year contract extension.
"Pep Guardiola is not thinking of renewing his contract for two more years," Balague told Sky Sports.
"Who knows if he will change his mind in the future, but for him the project is a three year project.
"And of course, he will get to the place he wants to take the team."

And the former Barca player surprised many by admitting City could be his last club in management before retiring from the game.
