Southampton bosses believe Liverpool have tapped their player up after a number of stories emerged last night stating that was Van Dijk’s preferred destination.
The Southampton Daily Echo report that the Saints board met this morning to discuss the situation and have decided to make an official complaint.

Manchester City and Chelsea have also been in the hunt for Van Dijk, who is valued at £60million.
Manchester City were ready to pay the Netherlands international £200,000 a week but Jurgen Klopp appeared to have convinced him to join Liverpool instead.
But Southampton are now said to be ready to block any transfer and want to keep him on the south coast.
