The comedian's hilarious portrayal of the Russian President saw him address Trump into the camera: "Donald, let's talk as friends. You're not off to a great start, man! However," he said, as an image of a huge crowd was shown, "I'm glad to see so many people showed up to your inauguration.
"Oh, wait. That's the Women's March. Here is inauguration."
The Satuday Night Live audience cheered with laughter as the camera then cut from the shot of the Women's March on Washington to a snap of the actual inauguration crowd, which seems to be a sore spot for the new President.

The new White House Press Secretary, Sean Spencer, addressed the apparently relatively small inauguration crowd in his first press conference, seeming to spin complex half-truths to distract attention from the viral images showing lacklustre crowds.
The SNL sketch also featured Putin boasting his control of America, implying that he bought the election: "Yesterday, we all made Donald Trump the 45th President of the United States. Hooray, we did it!
"And today many of you are scared and marching in the streets. You are worried that your country is in the hands of this unpredictable man. But don't worry, it's not. Relax, I got this. Putty's going to make everything okay."

He even made a dig at Trump's sex life, mocking: "Your whole inauguration was kind of heavy on the 'God' stuff. I've never heard you say 'God' that much and I have tapes of you having sex."
