Nick Clegg has raked in £40,000 for two speeches
The latest revelation means the former Liberal Democrat leader, who campaigned to Remain in the EU, pocketed around £250,000 in outside earnings since he was forced to step down at the 2015 election.
While serving on his party’s front bench as Brexit spokesman, Mr Clegg clocked up the cash during two speeches in Paris and London.
He was paid £18,000 for a two-hour speech to accountants PriceWaterhouseCoopers in December, according to The Sun.

And a week later the ex-deputy PM raked in £22,500 to deliver a speech to insurance company SCOR in Paris for two hours, which adds up to £165 a minute.
The revelation comes amid new calls for a clamp down on MPs second jobs, whereby politicians rake in a fortune alongside their day jobs by giving advice to corporate giants and City finance firms.
Second jobs are allowed under House of Commons rules as long as MPs declare them fully.
Mr Clegg is the only non-Tory in the Top Ten highest earning MP of 2016.
