Samsung Galaxy S8 is getting an upgraded model, dubbed Cruiser
The Galaxy S8 hasn't even landed on UK shelves, and Samsung is already at work on a better version of the handset.
According to reports from SamMobile, the South Korean company is already hard at work on the Galaxy S8 Active.
Codenamed Cruiser, the new handset will reportedly be a more rugged, durable version of the new flagship Samsung Galaxy S8.
The standard Galaxy S8 is already certified IP68 water and dust resistant, which means it'll survive 30 minutes in 1.5 metres of fresh water.
Last year, Samsung added a protective polycarbonate layer over the display for the Galaxy S7 Active.

The S7 Active was also designed to conform to the MIL STD-810G military specification to withstand pressure, temperature, shock and radiation.
That's pretty durable – and we can only for the same treatment for the Galaxy S8.
Samsung also increased the size of the Galaxy S7's battery cell with the launch of the Active variation – from 3,000 mAh to 4,000 mAh.
Unfortunately, Samsung never brought the Galaxy S7 Active to the UK.

The rugged flagship was reserved as an exclusive for the AT&T mobile network in the United States.
Whether the South Korean technology firm plans to bring the handset, which purportedly carries the model number SM-G892A, to the UK remains to be seen.
Voice-assistant Bixby will not ship with any of its voice control functionality at launch, the company has admitted.
The Siri and Alexa competitor – which has its own dedicated button on the side of the phone – will gain the feature via a software update latter this spring.
Samsung Galaxy S8 release date is right around the corner, but sadly there will be a missing feature
Samsung confirmed that voice control would not be ready in time for the Galaxy S8 launch in a statement to The Verge.
The company did not give an explanation for the delay.
In a statement to the technology blog, the South Korean company said: "Key features of Bixby, including Vision, Home, and Reminder, will be available with the global launch of the Samsung Galaxy S8 on April 21.
"Bixby Voice will be available in the US on the Galaxy S8 later this spring."

Those who have pre-ordered the Samsung Galaxy S8 ready for its international launch on April 21st will be able to take advantage of Bixby’s augmented reality camera feature – dubbed Bixby Vision.
This allows smartphone owners to scan real-world elements, including book covers, landmarks, and more, to search the internet for similar items, additional information on whatever you're looking at, or shopping results.
Samsung will also enable the new Home panel and the ability to set reminders via Bixby.
