But a drop in form at the turn of the New Year has seen Jurgen Klopp's side slip off the pace and they now find themselves battling to stay in the top four.
Wins against Arsenal and Tottenham in recent weeks has shown the Reds are capable of securing a Champions League spot for next season.
Sadio Mane wants to see Liverpool go to 'another level'
However, Sadio Mane thinks the Anfield club must learn to be more consistent – cutting out the defeats to teams nearer the bottom of the table.
"If you want to get to another level, you have to be consistent," Mane told Sky Sports.
"If you see the last few weeks, it has been difficult but we have great qualities in the team.
