Ronald Koeman is reportedly a target for Barcelona

Ronald Koeman joined Everton in the summer from Southampton and he has impressed so far this season at Goodison Park.

The Toffees are currently on a seven-game unbeaten run in the Premier League and are just seven points shy of the top four.

And according to Frank de Boer's agent Guido Albers, Koeman is attracting attention from European giants Barcelona.

Koeman played for Barcelona between 1989 and 1995 and was assistant manager there in 1998 until 2000.

He has often appeared to flirt with the idea of a return and now it seems like they are looking at him as well.

Albers was asked about De Boer's future plans after he was sacked by Inter Milan in November.

And while he ruled out a return to Barca for his client, he revealed the La Liga champions are considering Koeman as a replacement for Luis Enrique.

When asked if De Boer would be going back to the Nou Camp, Albers told Italian outlet TuttoMercatoWeb: "No, I do not think.

"Like Ronald Koeman, now at Everton."

Enrique's current deal with Barcelona expires in June and he is yet to agree new terms with the Spanish club.

Romelu Lukaku reveals his dream five-a-side team, featuring no Everton stars!

And speaking to Barca TV in December, the 46-year-old hinted he would be calling time on his spell at the Nou Camp.

"I have no doubt that I'm at the best team, with the best club, with the best players," Enrique said.

"But there is also one thing about this job that is very hard, it costs me a lot and it's a negative that I have to factor in when considering the next few seasons."
