Manchester United goalkeeper De Gea remains on Real’s radar 18 months after he failed to sign for the club.
A paperwork error in the summer of 2015 prevented the Spaniard moving to the Bernabeu in a deal that would have seen Navas head to Old Trafford.
Naval has since remained as Real’s No 1 shot-stopper but could be asked to move on at the end of the season to make room for De Gea.
