The new Rainbow Six Siege Bonus event has been confirmed
If you were trying to play the popular eSports title today, you probably found the Rainbow Six Siege servers unresponsive.
This was due to a massive outage first reported at around 4pm BST that lasted most of the day.
Players reporting server issues have now subsided to normal levels and Ubisoft have confirmed they have plans to make up for the online issues.
“In light of today's outage, as well as the delay for 2.2.1's deployment to PC, we have activated a 50% Bonus Renown Event that will run for the next 48 hours,” Ubisoft confirmed.
“There will be a maintenance tomorrow, and any downtime incurred as a result of that maintenance will be added to the end of the Bonus Renown Event's timer, ensuring that you receive a full 48 hours of 50% more Renown!
“This 50% bonus will stack with boosters, so this is the perfect time to pop a booster and start saving for Alpha Packs!”

Operation Health last three months and will focus on removing the worst bugs
Ubisoft have made Operation Health their main priority over adding new content to the game, but as reported above, this has run into delays at the public testing stage.
2.2.1 is now scheduled to deploy on PC on June 7, 2017. The tentative date for Console deployment is June 20th, but please keep in mind that this may change depending on how the PC deployment goes.
The next update, patch 2.2.2, will be focused on issues with Hibana, Smoke grenade replication, aiming consistency, Alpha Pack Deployment, and other long-persisting issues.
“There will be a redesign of the hitboxes for all operators. The new design will make it so the hitbox only includes what you would think of as the human body,” reads a development update.

“This means that baggy clothing, pouches, headgear, bags, accessories, etc. will not be included in the hitbox of all Operators. This change will impact present and future operators, and will allow for a full artistic freedom on character models and customization without a heavy impact on gameplay balancing.

"Spawn killing is one of the least fun experiences, and focus of Operation Health’s first updates is resolving exploitable issues, especially relating to spawn killing.
"We have identified three locations where players can be spawn killed on Chalet by the Campfire spawn, on Kanal with the line of sight from Control Room, and on Consulate where defenders could jump out of a window and get line of sight on a spawn.
"We are always excited to see our players find new ways to advance our game, but not when it makes it a less fun experience for other players."
The Maintenance Notes for the upcoming Rainbow Six downtime lists only one minor change: “No player facing changes.”
Scheduled Maintenance on June 6th runs as follows: PC/XB1/PS4: 8am – Noon BST.
