Opening the Channel 4 gameshow, 73-year-old Nick mentioned that today was the date that the much-anticipated Baywatch movie was released.
"Welcome to the Countdown studio on the day that two big movies are being launched," he said. "Wonder Woman and Baywatch.
"Of course, they both started off as TV shows I can remember Linda Carter, if I half close my eyes I can see her in that extraordinary outfit," Nick continued, cheekily, before admitting that he never really watched either show much.

As the camera cut to Rachel Riley, 31, the Countdown pin-up could be seen pulling a rather uncomfortable face as she cringed at Nick's comments.
The awkward moment didn't go unnoticed by fans, as one person tweeted: "Nick talking about his like for Pamela Anderson and Rachel Riley looking disgusted."

"Of course all the young girls were watching the Hoff," the host marched on, before Rachel interrupted him, asking sceptically: "Were they?"
"Were they not?" Nick said, surprised, as the blonde bombshell maintained that she wasn't sure about that, sounding decidedly unconvinced.
"I don't know," she muttered, glancing at Susie Dent for confirmation. "I don't think it's consensus."
