On Thursday Donald Trump confirmed US forces had used “mother of all bombs” in a strike against tunnels the jihadis are believed to have been using in the war-ridden country.
It was the first time the MOAB was used in action and it was dropped over Afghanistan's Nangarhar province, where it is reported to have had a blast radius of more than 300 metres.
Russia has now revealed it can outmatch the 21,000-pound giant in the US arsenal, as President Putin’s military says it has the “the father of all bombs” at their disposal.
The beast, weighing in at just 15,560lbs, is claimed to be four times more powerful than the US bomb which killed 36 jihadis.

Footage of the monster bomb was released through Russian state-owned television channel R1 TV, and shows images of the FAOB, officially known as the Aviation Thermobaric Bomb of Increased Power, carrying 44 tons of TNT. It obliterates anything within its impact zone.
In the clip the bomb can be seen dropped out of an aircraft with a parachute before it explodes and sends an impact wave shooting across the ground.
In 2007, officials tested the Russian monster which left a destruction radius of nearly 1,000 feet.
The FOAB explodes mid-air, igniting a fuel-air mixture and vaporises targets and it is so powerful it is comparable to nuclear weapons.

“We have incredible leaders in the military. We have an incredible military. We are very proud of them. This was another successful mission.”
Sean Spicer, President Trump’s spokesman, said the US was taking the threat from ISIS “very seriously”.
He said: “In order to defeat the group we must deny them operational space. Which we did.
“The United States took all precautions necessary to prevent civilian casualties and collateral damage as a result of the operation.”
Meanwhile, Gen Nicholson told a press briefing it was the "right time" to use the MOAB: "This weapon was used on ISIS caves and their sanctuary inside Afghanistan.

"This entire offensive, not just the use of a single weapon demonstrates the commitment of the Afghan army the Afghan special forces and their US partners to defeat Daesh in Afghanistan this year."
The revelation that Russia is in possession of the beast comes as tensions between President Trump and Vladimir Putin are on the rise after chemical weapons were used in Syria.
Horror swept the world as it emerged President Bashar al-Assad allegedly had ordered the use of gas against his own people.
President Trump responded by ordered a US missile strike on an air base in Syria and in a speech to the American people last week, he said preventing and deterring the use of chemical weapons was in the "vital national security interest of the US".
At the time Kremlin blasted the attack and said it was an act of "aggression against a sovereign nation”.
