The new PS4 4.55 update is out now on the base console and PS4 Pro
The PS4 4.55 changes are limited to providing better stability on the console, following the launch of the feature-rich 4.50.
However, these changes have not been officially reported by Sony, who are unlikely to post a big list of patch notes.
“This system software update improves the quality of the system performance,” reads the current information supplied by Sony.
One user on Reddit reported: “A few people had issues with wifi following the update. I have pretty bad internet but can play Overwatch with minimal lag. But following the update I couldn't play at all. Constant shuttering.

“It looks like the new update fixes this problem.”
Wifi issues were apparently added to some consoles during the launch of update 4.50, which featured Boost Mode for PS4 Pro, as well as improved 2D visuals for PS VR. Thisl benefits the PS VR's cinematic mode and provide better, crisper images.
The patch also launched the previously announced external HDD support, customisable wallpapers and 3D Blu-Ray support for PS VR.
The external HDD support, a long awaited feature, now allows PS4 owners to save application data for a game directly to an external hard drive.
