Will Prison Break return for season 6?
Co-showrunner Vaun Wilmott has said that “ideas are percolating” for a potential season six.
He told TVLine: “Right now, we are all just enjoying these nine episodes [of season five].
“If the right storyline comes along, I am sure the gang would be back to do it again.”
The show’s creator Paul T Scheuring has said that there is a “a zero percent chance of the show coming back" unless he finds "a top-notch story”.
He told The Hollywood Reporter: “Right now, we don't have that story. That's not to say we can't find it. But we're not going to make the show in perpetuity because we want to. So it may never come back.”
Scheuring hinted that he could hand over the reigns to a new team.
"Maybe somebody else can, or by accident I'll somehow, possibly, dream up another prison escape that's new and fresh, but I would bet against it,” he said.
Prison Break: Wentworth Miller and Dominic Purcell returned for the revived series
The season five finale (WARNING – SPOILERS) saw Michael Scofield finally freed after a fairly ludicrous twist involving a hand tattoo and facial recognition software.
Michael had Jacob Ness’s face inked onto his hands, which he then used as a mask to break into Poseidon’s HQ before framing his enemy for Harlan Gaines’ murder.
The final scenes saw Michael reunited with his wife Sara, their son, Michael Jr and his brother Lincoln.
Wentworth Miller, who plays the tattooed genius, has hinted that season six could follow Michael attempting to live a normal life.

“He's been living a nightmare, for years, and now he's back — back from the dead. He's reunited with his loved ones, but I think he would be haunted for a long time.
“I think there'd be paranoia, insomnia, anxiety, maybe a lingering taste for darker things, illegal things.
“If there are new stories to tell, we could probably start there: with Michael's not-so-smooth re-entry into civilian life.”

When could Prison Break season 6 be released?
Based on Scheuring’s comments, it seems unlikely that Prison Break will return within the near future.
Miller has said that he “wouldn’t rule out” another season, but hinted that viewers could be in for a long wait.
“I feel like there’s more story there and now we’re talking about multiple generations,” he said, joking that season six could see Michael “break [his] grandkid out of prison”.
“One last break,” he quipped.
Season five arrived eight years after season four.
The revived series has found a stable audience in the US, but has not hit the ratings highs that it enjoyed during its original run.
