Angelina Jolie’s father is one of Donald Trump’s biggest celebrity supporters and has slammed the Women’s March as “very destructive”.

The 78-year-old admitted the freedom to protest is what the “First Amendment is all about” but then went on to question what were the recent marches actually about.

“[It's] been very destructive, this marching against the government and against the president,” Jon told TMZ in Beverley Hills.

“The march was against the government and against the president, trying to denigrate his office and his presidency. And that’s no good.”

They’re teaching going up against the government, not accepting the will of the people

The Ray Donovoan actor singled out Miley Cyrus and Shia LaBeouf and claimed their actions are “teaching treason” as the singer and actor have both been vocal about their dislike for the President of the United States.

He continued: “When you see the young people, like Shia LaBeouf and Miley Cyrus, and they have a lot of followers, young people are looking at them and what are they teaching? They’re teaching treason.

“They’re teaching going up against the government, not accepting the will of the people on this presidency and it’s a very sad day when I see this.”

Jon added: “I don’t know what this Hollywood group is, I find it’s a very sad thing for me to witness what they’re doing, but they have a huge amount of influence, so anyway it’s not so good.”

Miley, 24, was one of many celebrities that joined the crowds at the Women’s March in Los Angeles at the weekend and she took to the stage to share her optimism with the audience.

She got emotional as she said: “We have to never stop believing. We have to never give up. We are living proof that we are stronger together.”

Meanwhile, Fury actor Shia unveiled a four-year protest of the Trump presidency called ‘He Will Not Divide Us’ after his inauguration.

The 30-year-old has created a 24-hour live stream installation in Queens to invite anyone who might pass it to shout out the phrase, he will not divide us.

But on Monday, a man used the opportunity to yell out a code often used in reference to white supremacism which resulted in Shia quickly confronting him and shouting him down with the phrase until he left.

Madonna has also been another celebrity to openly speak about her dislike of the Trump Presidency.

She is reportedly being investigated by US Secret Services after the Vogue hitmaker went on stage at the Women’s March and said: “Yes, I have thought an awful lot about blowing up the White House."
