This week it was announced the official premiere date would be Sunday, June 11, and with little time to whet appetites before the explosive third instalment it seems the BBC are cutting things down to the wire this time around.
But the 40 second video doesn’t disappoint viewers waiting to see Aidan Turner and Eleanor Tomlinson back on screens again, packed full of lingering looks and smouldering glances as tensions reach fever pitch between the pair.
Opening on the Cornish landscape fans have come to know and love, Ross and Demelza (played by Turner and Tomlinson) are back together and vowing to “face whatever life sends” after they hit a very rocky patch last season when Ross betrayed his devoted wife with ex-love Elizabeth (Heida Reed).
George Warleggan (Jack Farthing) then introduces his new son as Valentine, but in a shock moment last season it was hinted that the baby might not actually be his after Ross slept with Elizabeth. There is also a first look at troublesome new character Hugh Armitage (Josh Whitehouse).

Aidan Turner looks troubled in the new trailer
One of Demelza's brothers strips off to bathe in a scene which could rival Ross's famous one
It’s a new lease of life for the show every season when you get new characters.
With the introduction of Demelza’s brothers Drake and Sam (Harry Richardson and Tom York), the trailer really steps the excitement up a notch as one of them can be seen topless and rippled, bathing in a stream.
Could the reason Ross looks less than happy to meet his extended family be because Turner’s heartthrob status will be usurped by the dashing new men this year? Turner recently revealed he will be keeping his clothes on this season.

He said: “It’s a new lease of life for the show every season when you get new characters, especially when they are being played by such talented actors who just fluidly manage to get on with the existing cast so well.”
