The new Pokemon Go update could include a major Gym revamp
Fans of the popular Android and Apple app have been treated to a series of new events that have helped keep players engaged.
But following the latest timed-celebrations of different Pokemon-types, players are ready to try out something new, having seen the last major gameplay changes released in early February.
And it appears a new Pokemon Go update will make its debut very soon, including either the big new coop experience that's been recently teased by Niantic, or some other large changes.
SlashGear has several theories on what could be included – there is a chance that a big revamp is being planned that could see Trainers having their Pocket Monsters booted from existing Gyms.
“The first possibility is that this update will capture the long-awaited Gym Update and spread it across the planet. If this is true, it’s a good time now to make the most of Gyms held in your local area,” SlashGear reports.

POKEMON GO developer Niantic MUST add these features in 2017 if the app is to continue as a success.

“In the very near future – whether it’s this Friday or soon after – Gyms might well be emptied out in one wide push by Niantic in a worldwide reset.
“The worldwide reset is the only really fair way to fix the worldwide cheater problem that’s plagued the game from day one.
“Once the gym reset is in place, it’s possible – not guaranteed – but possible, that bots and other forms of cheaters won’t be able to interact with the Pokemon Gym at all. Cross your fingers and your toes for that.”
As mentioned above, Niantic’s latest security measure could be included to make it very difficult for bot-users to get their Pokemon back into Gyms.

A new Pokemon Go update will reportedly go live this week
The development recently confirmed that they had brought in new measures to block some of the best wild Pokemon in the game to those using features that go against the game’s terms and conditions.
“We’re committed to maintaining the state of Pokemon Go and our community of Trainers,” Niantic told fans on Reddit.
“People who violate the Pokemon Go Terms of Service (including by using third party software and other cheats) may have their gameplay affected and may not be able to see all the Pokémon around them.
“While we cannot discuss the systems implemented, we can confirm that we are constantly refining new ways to ensure the integrity of the game in order to keep it fun and fair for all Trainers.”

There is also the chance that the new Pokemon Go update will be tied to another event, following on from Adventure Week.
Following previous formats, this could include something like fire types suddenly spawning more frequently, tied with a new bonus.
As always, when it comes to online sources, it’s always worth taking the latest news with a pinch of salt, although Niantic do seem to be on a roll of late.
May has so far seen two events launched, including Adventure Week and the Worldwide Bloom. April and March, meanwhile, boasted the Pokemon Go Eggstravaganza and the popular Water Festival – adding the game's first shiny Pokemon.
